Are you a teenager who’s just getting into the gaming world? Or you a parent who isn’t sure which console device to get for your child? Don’t you worry because after reading this post I believe you will have a clearer idea of which device suits you best. There are many controversies in the realm of gaming. One of the biggest battle after “console VS PC” is, is PS4 better than Xbox? There are a lot of factors that should be taken under consideration before establishing a conclusion.
DESIGN AND USER FRIENDLINESS
- Sony’s PS4 has a slim version and a PS4 Pro
- Xbox has the Xbox One S, Xbox One S All-Digital Edition and Xbox One X
Both of these console devices have their own unique designs. The PS4 slim is a sleek design and is comparatively more easier of a device in terms of handling and weight. However the PS4 pro has a three patty design and is a little more bigger than the slim version and more heavier in weight. Xbox one S also has a sleek and slim design and is easy to handle.
The setup of either of the console devices is pretty simple and easy. They are both supposed to be connected to a TV and that’s pretty much it. The wireless remote for both the devices provide gamers with the liberty of comfort zones as they don’t have to spend hours near a computer screen on a chair. However both the devices come with controllers that have their own perks. The Xbox One pad has textured grips and can be customized via the Xbox design lab. Sony’s DualShock 4 is highly user-friendly and has a touchpad and reactive lightbar. The PS4 controller is the only one that supports micro USB charging. Xbox One owners will however need to purchase batteries or buy a $25 charging kit.
The biggest and most important concern a buyer has is the pricing. Which one is cheaper? Now people who believe in the quality of products know that pricing doesn’t matter for as long as their product is worth it.
- The Xbox One S starts at $299 (£300/AU$399) and so does the PS4 slim
- Xbox One S All Digital Edition ($249)
- Sony’s PS4 Pro costs $399 (£399/AU$600)
- Xbox One X $499 (£499/AU$649).
So if you want a more sleek and slim design of your console you can always go for PS4 slim or Xbox One S. Both of them start at the same price and go on sale all around the year. However, if your budget is a little tight Xbox one S all digital edition is the optimum choice for you. Now if you wish for quality 4K gaming and have that budget, Don’t hesitate to get your hands on that PS4 PRO or Xbox one X.
ENTERTAINMENT AND GAMING
PS4 and Xbox both come with a full entertainment center with applications like Netflix, Youtube and Amazon prime. So after you’re done and dusted with your gaming, you can sit back and relax with a good movie to watch. Xbox One supports Dolby Atmos and is the only console device that features Kodi ( an application that help you access any movie, video, image available on the devices in your home). Moreover Xbox One also features music apps like Soundcloud, Pandora and Deezer.
Both of the console devices support most of the big names in gaming industry. The battle royale games like Fortnite, Apex legends and PUBG. More games like Resident evil 2, Stardew Valley and Dead Cells are also supported by the devices. So for gamers who play only the blockbuster games, PS4 is an ideal choice. But gamers who like their libraries flooding with games, Xbox is a great option as it has 400+ games available.
Usually purchasing console devices really depends on one’s personal choice and preference. If you are one of those who’d prefer entertainment over gaming then I’d suggest you choose an Xbox device. It comes with more applications that support the entertainment department. However, if you’re a die hard gamer, you should go for a PS4 as it has more gaming options and it’s comfortable Dualshock controller gives gamers a better experience.
